Shepard Fairey

Shepard Fairey was born on February 15 1970 in Charleston South Carolina. In 1984 Fairey started putting his drawings on skate boards and T shirts. In 1992 he earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Illustration from the Rhode Island School of Design. Fairey created the "Andre the Giant Has a Posse" sticker campaign in 1989.

Shepard Fairey uses text in image by putting short one word messages like "OBEY" or "HOPE". This can be seen in one of his most famous works "Andre the Giant Has a Posse". It is also seen in his work "Hope" that got him widely known.

I chose to research Shepard Fairey because his work was the most interesting too me because i am still confused by why he made "Andre the Giant Has a Posse".
